Interesting facts About Hindi language
- Hindi got its name from Persian word Hind means Land of Indus River.
- Hindi has its roots in mother of languages Sanskrit , its nearly in 5000 BC.
- The constituent assembly adopted Hindi as an official language on 14,September,1949 that’s why this day is celebrated as world Hindi day.
- In Article 343 (1) of the Constitution of India states "The Official Language of the Union government shall be Hindi in Devanagari script."
- Hindi became India’s official language in 1965.
- Bihar is the first state of India to adopt Hindi as its official state language. In 1881 Bihar adopted Hindi Replacing Urdu.
- Hindi is spoken by around 500 million people worldwide.
- There are many countries except India in which Hindi language is very popular these countries are Mauritius, Fiji, Suriname, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Pakistan, Nepal etc.
